I am thinking about swapping the top latch on my K80 for a custom one, does anyone know how tricky that job really is? Is it something a decent smith can handle without a headache, or does it take a real K80 specialist?
From what I've seen, man, K80 latches can be finicky. Most decent smiths can handle it, but I'd still lean toward a K80 specialist, it saves headaches, keeps fit and function perfect
If the latch is just for looks or has some engraving and you're not messing with the overall shape, it might be a pretty straightforward job. But if you're looking to upgrade its performance, it's definitely best to go with someone who's got experience working on K80s.
