Just came back from working the state match. Was a good time to see old friends. I was fortunate to take home 2nd place in SSP Div, SS class. Lots of fiendishly placed no shoots bedeviled shooters:D

Not surprised to see that of the 140 shooters , 90 were shooting with optics. Times have changed since I started shooting competitively

I shoot IDPA, USPSA and ICORE at my club along with some “ outlaw” matches. While I’m competitive by nature, I really don’t care what I score, as long as I’m having fun. Many at my club that I shoot with are similar in philosophy.

So anyone else here enjoy any of the shooting games?

Congrats on 2nd place! That's some impressive shooting, especially with tricky no-shoot placements. They can really throw you off your game. I'm curious, what got you into shooting in different disciplines? I've been toying with the idea of trying ICORE, but haven't made the jump yet.

How different is the wheelgun scene compared to IDPA and USPSA?

I’ll try and answer your Qs

I’m a retired soldier and have always been interested in guns and shooting. I started shooting sporting clays/ trap leagues, then tried my hand at USPSA. From there migrated to IDPA. There was no ICORE where I was in western WA, but found it here in Idaho Falls and enjoy it. There’s a challenge shooting revolvers as almost every stage is “limited”

ICORE is a smaller group for sure, but is dedicated. We shoot year round despite the weather. ICORE can be equated as a USPSA stage with just revolvers and different targets. Give it a try, and if you re in eastern ID, our match registration is on practiscore.
