Hey folks, I've been thinking about how important it is to find a gun shop you can really trust. It seems like every shop has its own vibe, and customer service can really make or break an experience. So, what makes a shop trustworthy to you? Have you had any great or terrible experiences that stand out?

If you've got a go-to place, mention where it's located and what you love about it. I'd love to hear about their used gun selection, pricing, or any transfer fees you've dealt with. Let's help each other find those hidden gems or steer clear of the duds!

We use Council Guns in Council, on the corner across from M&W and the park. Good guys. I like dealing with them.

I have been using the gun shop in McCall and the one down in Cascade, wasn't aware of the one in Council. I will go over and take a look and have a chat. Maybe they can help me decide on my next rifle.

Living in the Treasure Valley I've done a lot of shopping at Idaho Guns and Outdoors, mostly the Nampa location.

Customer service is hit or miss, I shop there for the selection and pricing.

I was very happy getting to know Jim from Jim's Guns and Ammo but he recently closed down.

I've also shopped at Larry's Sporting Goods in Nampa for a long time and I see Larry finally sold the place and I haven't been in to see what's/who's new yet. I always liked the vibe and customer service but the selection was dwindling over recent years. I'll pop in Saturday and see how it is.

I have been going to Buckhorn at 6601 Ustick in Boise. They have gotten far too much of my disposable income. I've had a couple of firearms worked on their and they do a credible job. When he was still with us Mr. John Taffin used to swear by them; he lived just around the corner.

We have what I consider 3 decent gun shops ( selection, service, availability) in Idaho Falls:
The gun shop
Ross gun and coin
Guns and gear.

Some have attributes better than others, so depends on what you are looking for.
