The primer brand change that tightened my groups

Nothing else changed. I use the same powder, same bullet, same brass, same charge weight and I only swapped primer brands and suddenly my groups at 200 yards got noticeably smaller. It made me realize how overlooked primers are in precision loading, so yea consistent ignition matters more than most people think. Have you ever changed one small component and seen a surprisingly big difference?

Primers are the tiny divas of reloading, ignore them until they suddenly decide your groups deserve punishment.

I’ve had something similar happen swapping brass lots, everything else stayed the same but the vertical spread tightened up noticeably. Small variables can add up more than we give them credit for.

I swapped to Federal 210M primers on a .308 load and picked up nearly half an inch at 200 yards with nothing else changed. Primers being an afterthought in precision loading never made sense after that.
