Shot a full cylinder of +P ammo through a snub-nose

My hand told me exactly what happened. It was not dangerous and the gun handled it fine but I now understand why people who actually shoot snub-noses regularly say to find the hottest standard pressure load you can actually tolerate and train with it. +P in a lightweight .38 is memorable.

I often carry a 2.5" S&W Model 19-3 or a 3" S&W Model 13-4. These are both steel .357 magnums, and using magnum ammunition is quite sporty. I normally carry them with .38 Special +P and carry a speed loader or two of Hornady 135 grain Critical Duty ammunition. I would not want to shoot either of these rounds out of anything that weighed less!

That’s a good carry setup...steel frame really tames recoil compared to lightweight snubs with +P loads.
