As I get older, time goes faster. I carefully process brass for three different varmint rifles all winter and look forward to spring every year for the start of varmint season. Sadly it goes all too fast. This year I had challenges of my own making in trying different bullets and powder charges. I also mounted a fast twist barrel on my 25-06 and loaded up Hornady 134g ELDMs to see how they would work on long range chucks. With a slower twist barrel I was not impressed with 110g ELD-X bullets at 3000fps. Literally my last shot of the season the 134g ELDMs at 2745fps nearly tore a chuck in half at 856 yards with a 10mph quartering cross wind! At last, I have my long range varmint rifle that I've wanted for several years.

Nice!

I have a .25-06 that has a standard 1:10 twist, but stacks 100 grain bullets in the same hole all day.
