ICORE in eastern ID

For anyone interested, I am the match director for ICORE matches @ South East Idaho Practical Shooters ( SEIPS) in Idaho Falls. We shoot 2x monthly, with ~ 6 stages each match. ICORE is a revolver focused action shooting game similar to USPSA but with revolvers and different targets.

What is the dominant revolver type? Would an 8-shot .38/.357 give an advantage?

As in the other disciplines ( USPSA, IDPA), ICORE has separate divisions that compete within themselves. Divisions are:
Classic- any 6 shot non moonclips revolver without a compensator nor optics
Limited six- same as classic but allows moonclips
Limited- allows for 8 shot guns and moon clips
Open- anything goes- optics, comps, etc.
New for 2025 is Big 6. Essentially a 6 shot revolver that meets 155 power factor ( think 45 ACP/ 357 etc). Can be moon clipped.

All other guns must meet power factor of 120 or above. Power factor is bullet weight x velocity divided by 1000

I participated ( did abysmal) in the Rocky Mtn regional last weekend and there was a good representation of all divisions. Fun time despite my poor performance. Overall a great bunch of guys and gals.
