Every fall, I find myself chasing elk in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Pack-in hunts are pretty standard, so you really need to be fit and know what you’re doing. I’ve got my Weatherby Vanguard in .257 Weatherby Mag for antelope and deer, a .300 Win Mag for elk, a Mossberg 500, and I carry a Springfield 1911 in 10mm. Happy to be here!
