Binary Triggers Legal Or Nah?

I've been wondering about the legality of binary triggers in Idaho. I just moved here not too long ago, and I'm still getting the hang of the laws. Back where I came from, it seemed like everything was fair game. But here? I'm a little lost.

From what I gather, they can be a bit of a gray area. Some people say they're legal, while others are convinced they're not. It's tough to navigate this stuff without getting into trouble, you know?

I've even thought of stopping by a local gun shop to ask, but I didn't want to come off as totally clueless. Have any of you looked into this or maybe even had some experience with binary triggers here? What's the consensus? Just trying to stay on the right side of the law.

I have no idea! Those triggers are an odd concept and I never saw the utility in using one. I have been issued select fire rifles and carbines for work, but semi-auto (one shot) always seemed far more practical to me.

If you press the trigger and fire one shot, and you now have no need to fire a scend shot, can you prevent the trigger from launching another bullet when you release the trigger?

keep trigger depressed and engage safety.
i have since 1965 found that i could manipulate a good trigger as fast as I ever needed. and much faster than the bad guy could run.

I have no interest in binary triggers so I really haven't been following its legal standing. As far as I'm aware they are legal per the ATF but, of course, that can change at any time.

We did some testing on the range with some officers of various skill levels. We utilized M4s (full auto and semi auto). I believe we were at the 25-yd line and had different stages of fire with a time limit. The results showed that the officers had more hits on target utilizing semiautomatic than full auto. YMMV
