Just ordered a Glock 10mm pistol and since this is my first Glock wondering what changes I should make. The pistol will be carried in a chest holster while in the back country and fly fishing streams. On line I have seen a number of suggestions on U-Tube but thought it makes more sense to ask here.

That’s a solid backcountry setup! My advice would be to use it in its stock form first and see what you feel needs changing based on your experience. There are plenty of opinions on YouTube but not all of them will be relevant to you. Upgrading the sights could be worth considering later but definitely take it for a spin first.

That is excellent advice. While I know my ancient eyes will need a red dot and I need to decide between the Holosun designed for the Glock or another model, I will put a few hundred rounds through the weapon before I decide to make any internal changes.

It's a smart move to run a few rounds through it before you start swapping out parts. When it comes to red dots, the Holosun EPS is a favorite among the MOS crowd. Also, the bigger window on the EPS can be a real help for your eyesight. If you're willing to spend a bit more, the Trijicon RMR or SRO are great choices. Some also like the Shield or Swampfox options if you're trying to stick to a budget.

Let us know what you decide!

Here is a second vote for Trijicon...the Agency I retired from chose these after a very rigorous test process. Pricey but solid.
